sr20 prep 2

After getting delayed by the rain and the parts delivery, it was back on task.

Jack car up with longest jack ever, place jack stands underneath.

Bring out really cool drain pan from inside, drain engine oil.

While engine oil is draining, start disconnecting things on top, namely the boost controller solenoid vacuum lines. I took this time to try to take photos of all the random lines I've disconnected already to try to help during reassembly if needed as I was doing a piss poor job at labeling things thus far.

Begin to remove radiator by cutting zip-ties holding various vacuum lines in place crossing the engine bay.

Unbolt radiator upper supports.

Unplug vacuum line from radiator overflow. Remove lower radiator hose and drain fluids into aforementioned amazing drain pan.

Once drained, remove top hose.

Wiggle radiator and fan out of the engine bay and place aside, but not before unplugging the a/c fan.

Locate transmission drain plug, attach 1/2" 3-foot breaker bar and remove, and let gear oil drain, preferably into pan.

Disconnect heater core hoses at back of engine bay.

While in the general vicinity, take the opportunity to make sure you take more photos of the lines you already disconnected. A few more close up shots of the vacuum line config around the boost controller can never hurt.

Unplug all lines from it again after photo op.

Map lines in similar fashion to canister, and remove.

Un-mount bracket for this power steering line to allow it to move later on.

Move over to intake side and disconnect feed and return fuel lines.

Not sure whats going on here back on the exhaust side, but I'm obviously removing something further down from the turbo elbow, more than likely the bolts to the downpipe which are accessible from the top.

But back on the intake side, disconnect throttle cable and the engine grounds on the intake plenum and block. You can see the disconnected fuel lines on the left.
